The events of 2020 have hit the performing arts hard; we could be facing the greatest loss of artistic production in living memory. American Contemporary Ballet remains fiercely committed to this art form and its power to awe, inspire, broaden, and connect us. At some point in the very near future, a dancer will put on pointe shoes, strive for something beyond her limits, and achieve it. Someone in an audience will be exhilarated, someone else moved to tears. A child will decide that he or she wants to be onstage themselves — and commit to a life of discipline and risk, repeating the cycle.
